Programs

Little Road Montessori School is currently enrolling Infants/Toddlers (age 3 months and older) and Early Childhood Students - EC (ages 3 - 6 years old). Our classrooms are mixed-age, with a three-year grouping of students in the EC Classroom. This age grouping follows the Montessori philosophy, and allows for younger children to learn from the older children. In turn, the older children develop confidence and leadership skills through being a role mode.

Summer Camps

Little Road Montessori School offers summer camps for Toddlers and preschool-aged children. These camps have fun weekly themes so the children get to explore a wide variety of topics that they may not get to explore during the school year.

Early Childhood - EC (Preschool)

The Early Childhood’s and toddler’s Summer 2020 Camps will run from May 26th - August 7Th, 2020 with alternating themes. Alongside camp, the EC’S students will have Water Day each week!

Infants/Toddler Program

Encouraging Growth and Independence

At Little Road Montessori School, our infant and toddler teacher helps to embody the Montessori method at a young age and foster independence in the child.

Infant/Toddler program curriculum includes:

  • Self-care (including how to dress one’s self, wash hands and put on shoes and slippers).

  • Potty training

  • Picture and self-recognition

  • Fine motor development

  • Social development

  • Language development

  • Introduction to colors, numbers, and letters

  • Large muscle growth

  • Grace and etiquette

At Little Road Montessori School - we guide Infants and toddlers to do things for themselves! This includes putting on their own shoes and slippers, cleaning up their own messes, dressing themselves, and washing their own hands! The physical classroom is designed to encourage independence, children are also allowed to walk about class independently, choose what they want to work on, sit where they want to sit, and work for however long they please. It is amazing how young a child can master these skills as long as you allow them too. These victories are important growth milestones for your child and the infant/toddler program at LRMS gives many opportunities for your child to experience personal success!

Early Childhood Program -EC

The Montessori Method, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early part of the 20th century, laid the ground work for an educational system that has been adopted world wide.

Montessori education accommodates the level of ability of each child. After presenting the appropriate learning materials to the children at lessons, the teacher assesses the academic needs of each student by carefully observing their performance with the materials and other assignments. Therefore, each child moves along according to his/her ability in all areas of the curriculum, which allows for mastery of all subject matter presented.
